Therapy for Trauma and Wounding from Religion, Cults, Fundamentalism
Did you grow up in a fundamentalist religious group, oppressive family or community which told you what to believe and how to live your life by their rules?
You may have heard:
You are a sinner.
You are going to hell.
God disapproves of your actions, identity or lifestyle.
You must follow these teachings, pursue this type of career or marriage or be a certain kind of person in order to be loved and accepted by God, the family, the church.
Whether you were involved with fundamentalist Christianity, Mormonism, or another religious, spiritual group or cult, the result often looks similar: shame, guilt, confusion, rejection, and inner criticism which you continue to carry with you.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
You can find freedom and inner peace after involvement with an oppressive religion.
